We are an award-winning program at Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, North Carolina under the direction of Amanda Turner.

Concert Orchestra

This is an intermediate level orchestra class. All rising freshmen are placed in Concert Orchestra. We perform 2-3 concerts a year. We continue learning advanced technique and performing grade 4 music. There is a $75 orchestra fee associated with this class. There is also a $25 instrument rental fee for school instrument use. Student should have completed middle school orchestra. If a student needs to audition to be accepted to the program, they need to reach out to amanda.turner@cms.k12.nc.us

Prerequisite: Students should have completed middle school orchestra.

Symphonic Orchestra

Symphonic Orchestra - Honors

This is a proficient level orchestra class. This is an audition-only course. We perform 2-3 concerts a year. We will continue learning advanced technique and performing grade 4 & 5 music. There is a $75 orchestra fee associated with this class. There is also a $25 instrument rental fee for school instrument use. You will receive honors credit for this class.

Prerequisite: One year of successful passing of intermediate (concert) orchestra. An audition is required.

Chamber Orchestra

Chamber Orchestra - Honors

This is an advanced level orchestra class. This is an audition-only course. We perform 3-4 concerts a year. We will continue learning advanced technique and performing grade 5 & 6 music. There is a $75 orchestra fee associated with this class. There is also a $25 instrument rental fee for school instrument use. You will receive honor credit for this class. This is the highest level orchestra. Chamber also combines with the band for symphony orchestra performance, which adds after school commitments.
